Incêndios intensos no Alentejo e Algarve, risco marginal em Faro

A atividade tem-se concentrado no Alentejo e no Algarve ao longo do dia, com algum cluster de ignições em Évora (distrito de Évora) e outro em Beja (distrito de Beja); vários desses focos permanecem ativos e alguns já foram resolvidos. No interior norte, incêndios em Idanha-a-Nova (Castelo Branco) e Penamacor (Castelo Branco) continuam em curso, enquanto no distrito de Faro, Portimão mantém foco ativo. Reacendimentos têm surgido em Idanha-a-Nova, Loulé (Faro) e Serpa (Beja). O sensor MTG detecta muitas anomalias térmicas não associadas a fogos reportados, padrão típico de queimas agrícolas ou fontes industriais.

Intense fires in Alentejo and Algarve, marginal risk in Faro

Activity has concentrated in Alentejo and Algarve throughout the day, with a cluster of ignitions in Évora (Évora district) and another in Beja (Beja district); several of those spots remain active while others have been brought under control. In the northern interior, fires in Idanha-a-Nova (Castelo Branco) and Penamacor (Castelo Branco) continue, and in the Faro district Portimão keeps an active blaze. Reignitions have appeared in Idanha-a-Nova, Loulé (Faro) and Serpa (Beja). The MTG sensor is picking up many thermal anomalies not matched to reported fires, a pattern typical of agricultural burns or industrial sources.

Regime has run at an extreme level, with the national operational peak well above recent norms. IPMA shows a marginal risk increase for tomorrow in the Faro district, while other districts stay flat. Nationally, the fire‑weather index shows slight rise in a few districts, steady elsewhere and falling in a minority. The MTG sensor displays marked asymmetry, with numerous unmatched thermal anomalies indicating non‑fire sources.

Outlook

Extreme regime persists for the rest of the day, with marginal risk rising in Faro through the late‑afternoon to night; tomorrow the risk stays marginally elevated, especially in the Faro district.
